Engine Parts and Accessories

AR033 – Coil relocation bracket.  The bracket provides a convenient location for the coil near cylinder #6 when using aftermarket intake manifolds that do not have a built in coil mount. This bracket is similar to the coil brackets used by Chrysler on some later model passenger car engines.

AR111 – Crank pulley spacer.  Spacer is 0.125 thick and can be used to help correct belt alignment.

AR112 – Water pump pulley spacer.  0.060 thick spacer is useful for correcting small pulley alignment issues.

AR123 – Fuel pump block off plate.  CNC machined from 0.375 aluminum billet.  Nice looking and very rigid for leak free operation.  Fits SB, BB and Hemi motors.

AR140 – 0.375 thick crankshaft pulley spacer.  This spacer is CNC machined from billet aluminum and is designed to move the crankshaft pulley out 0.375 for proper alignment when using one of the AR Engineering motor plates.

AR161 – TDC pointer for big block or Hemi motors fitted with Jesel belt drive.  Non-adjustable pointer, nickel plated.

AR177 - This crank trigger bracket assembly solves several issues for engine builders who are using the Jesel belt drive system on a big block or Hemi motor.  This bracket assembly provides a mounting location for both a Ύ-16 thread crank trigger pickup and a 3/8 diameter pickup as well as an adjustable TDC pointer.  This kit is designed to work with the MSD trigger wheel mounted on an ATI #917127E damper.  (The #917127E damper with its longer hub is required to clear the belt drive assembly)  The bracket assembly also has a built in mounting point in the lower left hand corner that is suitable to use as a pivot point for an accessory such as an alternator or vacuum pump.  The crank trigger bracket has dimple marks located every 2 degrees of crank rotation for quick timing adjustments.  The bracket assembly comes complete with the bracket assembly, TDC pointer, and two crank trigger brackets.  An MSD pickup is not included in this kit. Part number AR179 is available as an upgrade to the AR177 kit.  AR179 substitutes a heavy duty billet bracket for the sheet metal trigger bracket.

AR178 - AR Engineering part number AR178 provides an easy solution for mounting a Jesel belt driven distributor to a motor plate on a Mopar big block or Hemi motor.  The bracket is slotted to allow adjustment of the belt tension and is black anodized.  This kit includes Gates belt part number 564-3M-06.  The Gates belt is slightly longer than the standard Jesel belt which allows the Jesel distributor to clear a Meziere WP307U reverse flow water pump.  If a motor plate is not available then AR Engineering part AR232 can be used to locate the distributor bracket.

AR179 - The addition of the AR179 billet bracket onto the AR177 crank trigger kit makes a very robust assembly.  The AR179 billet bracket is designed to work with the MSD PN 8636 crank trigger kit mounted on an ATI #917127E damper.  This assembly is designed to fit any Chrysler big-block or Hemi motor that has been fitted with a Jesel belt drive assembly.

AR182 - This billet valley plate from AR Engineering fits any Mopar RB block that is fitted with Indy cylinder heads.  The plate is 0.375 thick with two large windows cut out to provide access to the lifters.  The center plate is made from stainless steel and can be removed while the intake is still in place for inspection or camshaft replacement.  Unlike some other valley plates on the market, this plate has machined edges so only a thin skim coat of silicon is required to seal to the heads.  The machined edges are designed to fit properly on a block with 10.72 deck height.  If your block has been decked a large amount then the edges may need to be trimmed.  Bolting the valley plate to the block while decking the block will produce a perfect fit that will seal with very little RTV.

AR206 - This bracket assembly provides a mounting location for either a Ύ-16 thread crank trigger pickup or a 3/8 diameter pickup when using an AR Engineering billet timing chain cover.  This kit is designed to work with the MSD #8636 crank trigger kit mounted on an ATI #917122E damper.  The crank trigger bracket has dimple marks located every 2 degrees of crank rotation for quick timing adjustments.  The bracket assembly comes complete with the bracket assembly, and two crank trigger brackets.  AR Engineering part AR179 is available as an upgrade to the AR206 kit.  AR179 substitutes a heavy duty billet bracket for use with a Ύ inch crank trigger pickup.

AR208 - The AR208 coil bracket is used to mount a factory style coil in a vertical position.  This bracket works best with aftermarket intake manifolds that have open space in the valley area.  The AR208 coil bracket works well with the Edelbrock Performer RPM intake manifolds as well as many other aftermarket intake manifolds.

AR215 – Hemi valve cover spacers, 426 Hemi, two per kit, 0.188 thick.  Spacers can be used to with stock valve covers to clear aftermarket rocker arms.

AR221 fits RB and 426 Hemi motors

Distributor plug for use with Jesel belt drive distributor.  AR221 can be used to plug the distributor hole.  An extension on the plug prevents the oil pump gear from backing out during operation.  The plug can be held in place with a standard distributor hold down bracket.  The top of the plug is drilled and tapped for easy removal from the block.

AR295 fits B motors

AR224 – Billet timing chain cover with a removable center.  The removable center allows a person to inspect the cam drive and adjust it if they are using an adjustable top gear.  I recommend the Cloyes Hex-A-Just timing set if the customer wants to be able to adjust cam timing with the timing cover installed. The center plate is sealed with double o-rings for leak free operation and it is rigid enough to control camshaft endplay. The front of the cover is machined to accept a stock oil seal as well as the stock oil slinger.  An adjustable TDC pointer is included.  This cover fits under aluminum water pump housings without the need for any spacers and will fit with electric water pump assemblies.  Oil seal installs from the front and can be replaced without removing the timing cover from the engine.  These billet covers work with the AR281 cam button, the AR206 crank trigger bracket and fit the AR Engineering motor plates.

Master Cylinder Adapters and Heat Shield

Save weight and space by converting your Mopar over to an aluminum master cylinder.  Not only are the late model aluminum master cylinders better looking than a rusty cast iron master cylinder, they are also smaller and much lighter than the cast iron units.  The late model aluminum master cylinders also exhibit excellent corrosion resistance, which is more than you can say for the cast iron type.

AR Engineering offers two master cylinder adapters in order to match the most common configurations.  These adapters are designed to mate the later model aluminum master cylinder which started to appear in the 1978 model year and was gradually phased into production.  There are at least 3 different bore diameters used in RWD vehicles with the 1 1/32 diameter being the most popular.  The light trucks used the same design but with a 1 1/8 diameter bore.  Mopar Performance also sells complete aluminum master cylinders in two different bore sizes.  We are partial to the unit used in the 1985 5th Avenue cars, but most any RWD master cylinder should work.  Stay away from the master cylinders used on FWD vehicles.  They look the same as the RWD master cylinders but many were designed for diagonal braking systems and may be calibrated wrong for your musclecar.

These master cylinder adapters are designed to be a direct bolt in replacement for your existing manual brake master cylinder.  The thickness of the adapter compensates for the rearward placement of the piston in the aluminum master cylinder.  This will allow your existing pushrod to fit without any further modifications.  If you are converting from a power brake system then you may have other issues to solve.  Some power brake cars used different pedal assemblies in order to reduce the amount of pressure applied to the brakes.  The pushrod for the power brake assembly most likely will not work with the manual master cylinder and there may be issues with how the power booster was mounted to the firewall.  In short, if you are converting a power brake car over to manual disc brakes you will most likely need to find other parts to complete the conversion.

AR058 MC Adapter – This version has 4 studs which mount through holes in the firewall.  This style was used on many B body cars as well as early A bodies.

AR059 MC Adapter – This version has 4 mounting holes in it for cars that have studs protruding from the firewall.  The 1973 to 1976 A body cars (as well as many others) use this style of master cylinder mount.

AR060 Offset MC adapter – A CNC machined adapter used to re-locate a late model aluminum two bolt master cylinder away from the engine.  Originally designed for the Hemi A body cars, this adapter can be used in any RWD Mopar to clear tall valve covers or raised port cylinder heads.  The master cylinder is moved away from the engine by Ύ of an inch.  A longer pushrod needs to be purchased or fabricated due to the extra thickness of this adapter.

AR024 Heat Shield - The AR Engineering master cylinder heat shield is an excellent addition to any engine compartment.  This very simple part attaches using the same two studs which mount the master cylinder.  The V shaped design is simple yet strong and it protects the master cylinder from header heat.  Reducing the temperature of the brake fluid is important since it can prevent the possibility of boiling the fluid under hard use conditions.  Even during street driving the reduced temperature of the brake fluid will result in a longer life for the seals and boots within the master cylinder.  Heat kills, keep your master cylinder cool with the AR Engineering heat shield.

Tools

AR042 – Damper holder tool.  This tool is a handy way to hold the damper on any Mopar V8 engine when installing or removing the crankshaft bolt.  The tool is designed to work with a ½ drive breaker bar.  Tool is designed for a standard 2.80 inch diameter bolt circle.

AR069 – Rear end yoke holder tool.  This tool is an easy way to hold the rear end yoke when tightening or removing the pinion nut.  The tool is designed to work with a Ύ inch drive breaker bar.  The AR069 tool is made from high strength material and is capable of holding 600 ft-lbs of torque.  This tool fits all popular yoke bolt patterns used on Mopar vehicles.

AR083 – Valve train checking plate.  This tool fits big block or Hemi motors and is an easy way to mount a dial indicator to the cylinder head.  The tool is made from steel so magnetic base dial indicators can be used.  The tool also has a pattern of holes for bolt down dial indicators.

AR131 – Engine lift plate has the Dominator bolt pattern as well as the narrower bolt pattern for spread bore carbs.  Lift plate has three locations for the lift hook.

AR132 – Engine lift plate designed for the standard 4150 bolt pattern.  Lift plate has three locations for the lifting hook.

AR200 – 10 degree retainer tool.  This handy little tool is designed to provide the engine builder with a quick way to compare the installed height of various valve spring retainers without needing to install each retainer on a cylinder head.  The tool provides a consistent measuring surface so that the installation height of different retainers can be compared to each other.

AR202 – This rocker arm sweep tool provides a quick way to measure the sweep of a roller rocker across the valve stem.  Many engine builders adjust the rocker arm geometry to minimize the amount of sweep across the valve stem.  This approach is called the “mid-lift” rocker geometry method and the intent is to have the rocker arm perpendicular to the valve stem at the middle of the valve lift.  On a production Mopar engine the rocker shaft has to be raised or lowered to change the rocker arm geometry which is a little difficult to accomplish, but it can still be educational to measure the sweep across the valve stem and to compare this number to the “ideal” sweep that would be possible.  A dial indicator is required but it does not need to be a digital model.  Typically the sweep will be less than 0.100 so the indicator does not need to have a large amount of travel capability.  The AR202 rocker sweep tool comes complete with a set of valve locks for 11/32 valve stems because those are the most popular size for aftermarket heads.  Production heads will require a different valve lock to fit the larger 5/16 stems.  The retainer used in the AR202 rocker sweep tool is a standard 7 degree retainer so production locks will work with standard valves.

AR213 – Dust cap installer tool is used to install the dust caps on the front hubs of later model rear wheel drive Mopar vehicles.  This tool is designed to fit dust cap #3580894 which fits all the 1973 or newer model A,B and E body cars.  The 3580894 dust cap fits the late model disc brake knuckle which is very popular to retrofit to earlier vehicles.  Without this tool the dust cap is often dinged or smashed during installation.  This tool fits on the reinforced edge of the dust cap and allows a person to strike the dust cap squarely with a hammer without causing any damage.

AR220 – This CNC machined billet aluminum plug is designed to plug the distributor hole when the distributor is removed.  Handy for engine storage.

AR222 – Seal installer for wheel bearing seals.  This tool is designed to install the inner wheel bearing seal for 1973 or newer brake rotors.  Tool fits seal number 3580723.

AR231 – Carburetor stand for Dominator carbs.  This is a heavy duty stand that fits the 4500 bolt pattern carbs.  The base is made from thick steel and is designed to hold an expensive racing carb during repair or transportation.

AR246 – Cam checking tool for big block motors.  This tool bolts to the deck surface and holds a dial indicator directly above either the exhaust lifter or the intake lifter.  With the addition of a short pushrod (not included) an engine builder can quickly check the timing of any camshaft.  A digital dial indicator with at least 0.50 inches of travel is recommended.  The dial indicator is not included.

AR252 – Lifting plates, exhaust port style.  The traditional engine lift plates do not work with some induction systems such as cross rams or tunnel rams.  These engine lift plates are designed to bolt to the cylinder head and provide a place to attach a chain for safe lifting.  It is highly recommend to use a spreader bar with the chain.

AR253 – Exhaust port block off plates.  This kit contains two block off plates that bolt onto any big block cylinder head to keep debris out of the motor during storage.  The plates are made from steel and are zinc plated for corrosion resistance.

New AR263 – Damper holding tool for BB Chevy bolt pattern.  Use this tool to hold the damper when using a damper with the 3.20 inch Chevy bolt circle.  Designed for use with the ATI damper #917120 which has a BB Chevy bolt pattern.  Made from heat treated tool steel, this damper holder works with a ½ drive breaker bar.

Transmission Parts

AR066 – Shield for Denso mini-starter.  The factory starter shield does not fit properly with the popular mini-starters so we designed a shield that does fit correctly.  These shields are made from EG steel for corrosion resistance.  Fits either SB or BB motors.

AR129 – Filter extender for the early pushbutton style 727 transmission.  A filter extender is required when using a deeper than production oil pan on the transmission.  This extender uses o-rings to seal to the valve body.  Extender comes with longer attaching bolts and washers.

AR171 – Filter extender for the standard style 727 transmission.  This extender is made from billet aluminum and uses an o-ring to seal against the valve body.
